Qube announces new Managing Director

Integrated logistics provider, Qube, has appointed a new Managing Director.

The company made the announcement formal this week by appointing Paul Digney to the role.

With over 30 years of executive management experience in supply chain and port logistics roles across Australia, Digney has held the position of Chief Operating Officer of the Qube Group since 2016.

As part of a wider restructure, Qube made several other changes to its leadership team this week.

These include the following appointments; Shane Collins as Director- Strategy and Development, Emily Link as Director – People, Culture and Safety, Thanh Truong as Director – Finance & Commercial Services and David Digney as Director – Operations (Logistics).

Qube said in a statement that each of the promoted senior executives was highly accomplished in their areas of expertise and have been with the Qube organisation for a number of years.

In the 1990s, Paul Digney established Liberty Cargo Systems where he provided port logistics and international freight forwarding services.

Patrick Corporation Limited acquired the company in 1999 and it became the platform for the Patrick Port Services Division.

As General Manager, Digney rapidly expanded the new division through growth and acquisitions which became Patrick Logistics Division.

Digney then headed the division until 2006.

In 2007, together with other former Patrick executives, Digney led an investment consortium to acquire management control and ownership of the former P&O Trans Australia, now Qube Logistics.

His experience developing supply chain solutions for major projects, partners and clients led to Digney’s appointment to Chief Operating Officer of the Qube Group in 2016.

Digney is a Non-Executive Director of Patrick and was appointed Managing Director of Qube on 1 July 2021.
