Renault Australia has announced the appointment of Victor Ly as the new Product Manager of light commercial vehicles (LCV).
The former product planning specialist returned on Australia 17 August after having taken up a position at Toyota Australia in 2018.
The role will entail supporting the management of end-to-end model life cycle product plans for LCV vehicles in the local market.
Other duties include market research, data analysis, upstream planning, pricing and positioning, as well as ongoing lifecycle management.
Ly's return coincides with changes to the company's product portfolio in which SUV and light commercial vehicle ranges are set to be prioritised.
“We are very happy to welcome back Victor to the Renault family,” said Renault Australia Managing Director Anouk Poelmann.
“He brings a wealth of experience to the brand. With some exciting new product on the horizon, Victor will be a valuable addition and a key player in our future plans,” she said.
Renault Australia's LCV stable currently includes Kangoo, Trafic and Master vans.
Despite indications it would arrive in 2020, the second-generation Renault Alaskan ute looks likely to have been shelved this year locally.
