RTA mobile speed camera sites

NatRoad is advising members of more detail on the proposed use of mobile speed cameras in New South Wales.

According to NatRoad, the RTA has stated it will release camera locations daily through its website, but when the link is accessed it lists every site selected as per RTA criteria and not individual sites selected for daily enforcement.

The link was established to highlight the daily enforcement locations, however the fact the list is uploaded daily seems irrelevant as it appears as though it will only vary when a new location meets the criteria, or it is removed from the list.

A few issues that are worthy of mentioning are that cameras will be mounted in Ford Territory Wagons; cameras will stay at one location for periods of three hours; motorists will have a month long penalty-free phase with warnings issued instead of fines; and locations will be established in consultation with police.

NatRoad says that if the RTA site changes to give more detailed daily listings it will inform members of changes.
