The Royan Group snaps up BT Ryan smash repairs

Heavy vehicle accident repair specialist, the Royan Group, has acquired BT Ryan Smash Repairs, a formerly family-owned truck and bus repair outfit that has operated in Matraville, New South Wales, since 1984.

Royan said in a statement that the company will continue to service the needs of BT Ryan customers who will now also benefit from the systems and resources that Royan can provide.

BT Ryan is located at 91 Beauchamp Rd, Matraville, close to Sydney airport, and provides Royans with a second Sydney location which is the 10th branch in the Royan Group.

“Its proximity to the Chipping Norton branch will enable both sites to provide efficiency and flexibility for the combined customer bases,” said Royan.

“Staff including Paul and Gino will continue to manage the business while the company’s founder, Brett Ryan, will provide support to the business for a period of time as it transitions to new ownership, before Brett and his wife Laurie enjoy a well-earned retirement.

“We would like to take this opportunity to wish Brett and Laurie all the best for their future endeavours.”

Royan was founded at Parramatta in western Sydney in 1944 and has grown to become what the company describes as Australia’s largest commercial vehicle accident repair specialist, now including two branches in each of Sydney and Melbourne, in addition to sites in Brisbane, Wagga Wagga, Dubbo, Newcastle and Wodonga.

Last month also marked a significant milestone for Royans as the company moved into the New Zealand market, partnering with Transvisual Spraypainters in Auckland.

The company depicts its core business as accident repairs to all forms of commercial vehicles including trucks from light rigid to prime mover, buses, all forms of trailers including tippers, vans, curtain-siders and stock crates, along with earthmoving, plant and agricultural equipment.
