UD Trucks delivers for linehaul specialists

Australian-owned freight carriers are aligning their brands with UD Trucks in pursuit of gains in efficiency and running costs.

Personalised Freight Management Logistics, a national company that owns a depot in every state, bringing its total facilities to 10 across Australia, specialises in office and hospital equipment moving x-ray machines, vendor machines, beds and photocopiers.

It runs 21 UD Trucks across its large fleet including a range of MK-11s, Condor PK-17s and Quon CW-380s according to Ray Hughes, PFM National Fleet Service Manager.

“The greatest strength with UD, I believe, is the quality and the workmanship that is put into making them the way they are,” he said.

“I believe that UD is living up to the value and the extra-mile.”

Synonymous with food and dairy in Victoria where it is based, Sargeant Transport services a major supermarket chain across the state.

Established in 1990, the company runs 20 UD Trucks including the New Quon out of its fleet of over 100.

The UD makes perfect business sense according to Jamie Sargeant the company director.

When it comes to buying a truck he said there are three major considerations.

These include cost to buy, cost to operate and the resale value.

For Sargeant UD Trucks is living up to his expectations.

“UD’s strengths have always been in its simplicity and durability and from what I’ve seen of the New Quon, it’s going to perform exceptionally well,” he said.

“My business is going from strength to strength thanks to the reliability and the durability of the UD Trucks. It has been a really great product to have on board,” said Sargeant.

“We’re very confident in the product. We continue to buy it.”
